Job summary

TDS Telecom is hiring a Broadband Technician I to perform basic installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers. You will handle video, HSD, and home phone services, ensure signal quality, and work from the tap to customer equipment.

A $2,000 sign-on bonus applies. The role requires on-call availability and residence within 60 minutes of Bend, OR; driving a DOT-capable vehicle is part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Requires being available for on-call/standby responsibilities and may require occasional travel.
• Practical knowledge/experience with computer applications.
• Demonstrated customer service and sales skills, as well as effective communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform connects (new connects and reconnects), disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install outlets and equipment.
• Install or remove equipment and wiring from the tap to customer equipment.
• Ensure proper signal levels and picture quality on TV sets after installation.
• Record information on work orders, surveys, and referrals.
• Promote company services and educate customers on usage and add-ons.
• Maintain and secure assigned vehicle and equipment and perform other duties as requested.
