Job summary

CAI is seeking a Business Analyst for a 3-month contract opportunity that is fully remote. You will translate requirements into data mappings, validate data flows, and support scalable data integrations across clinical and administrative systems.

The role requires strong fluency in data engineering patterns, API-driven interoperability, and ELT/ETL practices, with a focus on SmileCDR and FHIR-based exchanges. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Data Management or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years as a Business Analyst with data engineering/interoperability experience.
• Strong knowledge of ELT, SQL, JSON, APIs, and data validation.
• Hands-on understanding of FHIR R4, HL7, and healthcare data types.
• Experience with data mapping and source-to-target specifications.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support ELT processes ensuring data quality and on-time delivery.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines and ingestion issues across cloud and on-prem.
• Oversee SmileCDR operations including config, deployment, debugging, and monitoring.
• Map source data to FHIR R4 resources, profiles, and implementation guides.
• Validate FHIR transactions and APIs using Postman, SmileCDR, and validation tools.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to translate requirements into data specs.
• Document data dictionaries, mappings, and interoperability artifacts.
• Support data governance, quality, and metadata initiatives.
