Job summary

MNL is seeking an experienced wildfire professional to join our on-call suppression team. As a Firefighter Type 1, you will deploy on national wildfire incidents, perform fireline construction, and operate suppression equipment as needed.

You will maintain readiness between assignments, complete trainings, and be prepared to respond with short notice. Valid NWCG qualifications and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of wildland fire experience or more.
• Current NWCG FFT1 qualification and Position Task Book.
• Strong knowledge of ICS, fireline safety, and NWCG standards.
• Ability to operate and maintain Type 2 or Type 3 Support Tenders.
• Willingness to travel extensively and deploy on short notice.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform wildfire suppression activities in support of Incident Command objectives.
• Construct and improve fireline using hand tools, hoses, pumps, and equipment.
• Participate in firing operations when qualified and assigned.
• Maintain safety and professionalism as part of an incident response team.
• Attend briefings, safety meetings, and after-action reviews.
• Represent MNL professionally with agencies, partners, and the public.
