Job summary
A local fire protection authority is seeking qualified Wildland Firefighters to respond to local and regional wildfire events. Candidates should be physically capable of strenuous work and possess NWCG certifications FFT2 and FFT1. This at-will, seasonal position offers competitive hourly pay and the chance to work alongside various fire management agencies. The role involves responding to wildfires, constructing fire lines, and maintaining firefighting equipment, with hours dependent on fire conditions.
Qualifications
Ability to pass the required NWCG pack test.
Available for long shifts, nights, weekends, and short notice callouts.
Responsibilities
Respond to wildland fires as part of SAFPD crews or interagency resources.
Assist with initial attack, extended attack, mop-up, and patrol operations.
Construct fire line and operate hand tools, hose lays, and portable pumps.
