Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a Family First Prevention Services Act Project Manager to lead complex FFPSA initiatives from Austin. You will coordinate cross‑divisional teams, manage budgets, and ensure timelines and compliance across stages of the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have at least five years of project management experience in public programs, strong communication skills, and a Bachelor’s degree related to the assignment.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management in relevant areas of project assignment.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment is generally preferred.
• Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and oversee projects using accepted project management methodologies.
• Provide consultative services and technical assistance regarding FFPSA project implementation and management.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including work plans, progress reports, timelines, and performance metrics.
• Oversee planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of FFPSA projects with defined goals and timelines.
• Develop budgets, schedules, work plans, resources, and cost estimates for projects.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to meet project timeframes and budgets.
