Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or graduate of, a Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiology Technology program.
• Graduate of a post-secondary allied health profession program.
• On-the-job training with registered sonographer.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within 12 months.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer within 12 months (various specialties such as Adult Echo, Fetal Echo, Pediatric Echo, Neurosonology) within 12 months.

Responsabilités

• Operate sonographic equipment to record images of blood, organs, tissues, and fetuses.
• Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for scans.
• Adjust equipment settings and patient positioning for quality images.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Review images for pathologies and present preliminary findings to physicians.
• Ensure equipment is functional and report issues to supervisors.
