Job summary

The Fetal Cardiac Sonographer at Children’s National Hospital performs echocardiograms and measurements in the Cardiology Echo Laboratory, collaborating with hospital staff to deliver accurate studies for fetal and pediatric patients.

You will ensure proper record keeping, participate in teaching fellows and sonography trainees, and contribute to research and telemedicine activities as part of a busy, mission-driven department in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and graduate of approved echocardiography program.
• 2 years of fetal echo experience in pediatric/fetal lab required.
• Registered Pediatric Echocardiographer (PE) or RCCS on hire required.
• Fetal Echocardiography certification ARDMS RDCS (FE) on hire required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider on hire required.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms and measurements accurately.
• Maintain records and billing forms accurately.
• Educate department staff about echocardiography.
• Assist in training fellows and sonography trainees.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure timely studies.
