Job summary

University Of Michigan is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and evaluate complex tests supporting fertility care. You will join a team of andrologists, embryologists, and clinicians, handling daily ART laboratory operations and advanced semen analysis.

The role includes endocrine testing, sperm preparation for IUI/IVF, and participation in QM/QC/QA/QI programs. Strong teamwork and teaching responsibilities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to communicate medical terminology and analyze clinical results.
• Two years of clinical or translational research lab experience, and at least six months in a human reproductive clinical lab within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative clinical laboratory analyses on body fluids, blood, and tissues.
• Consult with physicians regarding correlation of test results with disease state.
• Conduct quality control tests and maintain data recording; address out-of-range results.
• Travel to hospital operating rooms or sites to assist with sperm identification.
• Assist in onboarding and training for new staff; help teach medical students and residents.
• Support endocrine testing and andrology diagnostic testing, including semen analysis and sperm preparation for IUI/IVF.
• Participate in lab quality programs and engage in translational research and cross-training.
