Job description

Job Title: Fertigation Supervisor

Pay: $57,000 per year

Location: Chambersburg, PA

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM.

Position Summary

The Fertigation Supervisor will ensure all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are followed for both sides of the Webster cultivation facility. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, and operation of power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain, and repair irrigation system components such as lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, and pumps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop nutrient programs with the Cultivation Manager to meet strain‑specific needs.
  • Maintain strategy for crop irrigation and feeding schedules.
  • Work closely with the growing team to implement and maintain the irrigation plan.
  • Partner with the Cultivation Manager to maintain inventory of all chemicals and fertilizers on site.
  • Ensure fertilizer concentrate tanks are filled adequately.
  • Make daily adjustments to the irrigation schedule.
  • Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
  • Take measurements, record data, and observations for all grow rooms.
  • Write and execute Standard Operating Procedures related to fertigation.
  • Perform regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments.
  • Monitor soil moisture content of the crop and obtain water samples for testing.
  • Work closely with other supervisors and managers to maintain a healthy, happy, clean, highly productive, and compliant facility.
  • Direct employees’ daily tasks.
  • Provide leadership to the fertigation team and train team members on new and updated SOPs.
  • Drive production goals.
  • Streamline processes.
  • Ensure tasks are completed safely and per the SOP.
  • Communicate laterally with other management staff and with upper management.
  • Provide strong leadership to address employee concerns and administer disciplinary action if necessary.
  • Approve payroll.
  • Provide policy updates.
  • Recommend staff members for advancement or promotions.
  • Assist with interviews and hiring.
  • Work variable shifts to meet business requirements.
  • Work occasional weekends and holidays as scheduling requires.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises others and makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal, and professional development.

Qualifications
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • One year of experience growing cannabis in a regulated facility.
  • One year of irrigation, plumbing, or similar experience.
  • Ability to comply with established safety standards.
  • Experience effectively using computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Must be able to work in a challenging fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to train co‑workers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Botany, Agriculture, Ag Business, Environmental Science, Ecology, Soil Science, Horticulture, or a similar field.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, use hands, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. The position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee may be exposed to dust, pollen, plant pathogens, cleaning solvents such as isopropyl alcohol, loud noises, CO₂ manufacturing procedures, confined spaces, and high‑stress environments.
