Job description

Lead Fertigation Technician

Pay Range: $22.00 - $23.75/hr

Location: Fargo, ND

Job Type: Full Time | Non-Exempt

Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm (availability outside of standard hours required)

Who You Are

You’re detail-oriented, proactive, and take ownership of your work. You notice issues early, investigate them, and take action without waiting to be asked. You’re comfortable working independently, including weekends, and understand that fertigation accuracy directly impacts plant health and yield. You follow SOPs, stay organized, communicate clearly with the team, and bring solutions forward. Experience in cannabis cultivation or irrigation is helpful, but consistency, accountability, and strong data logging matter just as much.

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Fertigation Technician at Curaleaf, you’ll own irrigation and nutrient delivery across the cultivation facility, ensuring systems, schedules, and execution are consistent, proactive, and aligned with crop needs. You’ll partner closely with the Cultivation Manager and growing team to troubleshoot issues, set daily priorities, and support plant health and yield.

  • Own and execute irrigation and feeding strategies across all cultivation zones and flower rooms.
  • Ensure fertigation plans are implemented accurately and consistently in partnership with the cultivation team.
  • Oversee operation, monitoring, and maintenance of fertigation systems, batch tanks, and concentrate tanks.
  • Validate pH/EC targets through runoff monitoring, system checks, and in-room inspections.
  • Inspect flower rooms daily to confirm proper feeding and identify signs of stress, wilting, or overwatering.
  • Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot issues, and elevate risks quickly to protect crop health.
  • Monitor, review, and document irrigation data, measurements, and observations.
  • Calibrate nutrient testing instruments and monitor soil moisture and water quality as needed.
  • Manage nutrients, fertilizer, and chemical inventory; ensure tanks are stocked and weekend-ready.
  • Maintain fertigation equipment, filters, mix tanks, and irrigation lines on established schedules.
  • Communicate clearly with the team, follow direction from the Cultivation Manager, and model a proactive, detail-driven approach.
  • Support compliance efforts and interact professionally with state regulators as required.
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 1 year of hands‑on experience processing cannabis in a regulated facility.
  • A proactive mindset—you notice issues, troubleshoot effectively, and communicate early.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow SOPs, stay organized, and maintain accurate data logs and a clean workspace.
  • Experience with irrigation, nutrient systems, or cultivation; basic understanding of pH/EC or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting equipment and standing or bending for extended periods.
  • Reliable attendance, a team‑first approach, and comfort working independently, including weekend and variable shift coverage.
