Job summary

The Kerry Fermentation R&D team in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced R&D Technician to support daily fermentation research and microbiology activities. You will prepare media, set up bioreactors, collect samples, and document results for the Food Protection and Preservation projects.

Reporting to the R&D Manager, you’ll work closely with scientists, maintain equipment, ensure safety and quality, and help drive continuous improvement in fermentation processes within our global taste and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology or related.
• Basic knowledge of microbiology and laboratory practices.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and microbiological testing methods.
• Ability to prepare laboratory media, perform serial dilutions, plate samples, and conduct colony counts.
• Strong attention to detail and data recording.
• Proficiency with Excel and standard computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D scientists with daily fermentation research and laboratory activities.
• Prepare media and recipes for laboratory-scale fermentation experiments.
• Set up and support operation of laboratory-scale bioreactors.
• Collect samples and record data accurately.
• Conduct basic microbiological testing and related tasks as required.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Document and communicate testing results to the teams.
