Job summary

You will collaborate with R&D Scientists and Production Engineers to optimize methods, write procedures, and help transfer successful lab methods to production.

Qualifications

• Majoring in bioengineering, biotechnology, biochemical engineering or related fields is required.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary, diverse team.
• Excellent computer skills are desired.
• Must have flexibility to work some limited off-shift and weekend hours to support all production shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support and comply with safety and environmental training policies and programs.
• Under supervision, set up and monitor pilot-scale fermenters and downstream process unit operation.
• Analyze, summarize and present pilot data to Research and Production Teams; recommend and implement process improvements.
• Heat and mass balance calculations and mathematical modeling of metabolism and fermentation.
