Job summary

Novonesis in Salem, Virginia is seeking a Fermentation Operator to operate and clean production equipment, track production data, and support frontline manufacturing in a clean, safe environment.

This on-site, 12-hour shift runs Mon-Thurs from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am with competitive pay ($19-$21/hour) and day-one benefits, including 401(k), vacation, holidays, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and web apps.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable climbing stairs and working at elevated heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean fermentation-related equipment (fermenters, centrifuges, spray dryers).
• Maintain hygienic GMP production environment.
• Document production data and complete inventory transactions.
• Support Lean continuous improvement activities.
• Work as part of a safety-focused team.
