Job summary

CHC is a nonprofit social service agency in the Akron area serving women and families affected by addiction. We are hiring Residential Aides for a women’s facility, including pregnant women and those with children.

Touchstone operates 24/7 with day, evening, weekend shifts. Responsibilities include directing residents, case management and transportation, security support, crisis intervention, and thorough shift logging.

Qualifications

• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or higher required; BA with CDCA preferred.
• Experience with drug and alcohol recovery process recommended.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Training in First Aid and CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and direct residents to follow house rules and CHC policies.
• Provide case management and transportation for residents to appointments/activities.
• Assist with nightly security procedures.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Document shift activities and residents' behavior in the residential log book.

Job description

CHC is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974.

We are currently looking for full-time and part-time Residential Aides for our women’s residential facility, specializing in pregnant women and women with their children. Touchstone is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, weekends, overnight, etc.

Will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and directing the activities of residents to ensure that they follow house rules and CHC policies and procedures.
• Providing case management and transportation for Residents to and from scheduled appointments or activities.
• Assisting with nightly security procedure.
• Providing Residents crisis intervention when necessary.
• Appropriately document shift activities and resident's behavior in residential log book.

Minimum requirements:

Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, High school diploma, BA with CDCA preferred, experience with drug and alcohol recovery process, and clean driving record. Meets CHC requirement to not be restricted from exposure to medication by any governing body. Training in First Aid and CPR preferred.
