Northwestern Medicine offers an exciting opportunity for newly graduated Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join a comprehensive six-month fellowship in Hospital Medicine. This program is designed to prepare clinicians for the fast-paced inpatient setting through a multidisciplinary approach, combining didactic learning, clinical rotations, and mentorship.

The fellowship includes:

1. Intensive bootcamp to review fundamentals and develop primary service provider skills.
2. Hands-on clinical care under supervision, with direct patient care responsibilities.
3. Educational activities such as case-based presentations, skill workshops, and evidence-based medicine training.
4. Opportunities for professional development and potential employment within Northwestern Medicine upon successful completion.

Schedule: Primarily day shifts, no night or holiday shifts, with some weekend rotations. Compensation: $46,000 for six months, plus benefits.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct patient care, including history taking, physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
• Collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members.
• Participating in educational and quality improvement activities.

Minimum qualifications:

• For APRN-CNP: Graduation from an accredited Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program, valid Illinois RN and APRN licenses, and certification.
• For PA: Graduation from an accredited PA program, valid Illinois PA license, and certification.
• Basic Life Support certification required for all.

Preferred: Previous employment at Northwestern Medicine.
