Job summary

5rcattle is seeking a Feedyard Trainee to learn roles across cattle, feed, mill, and yard departments. The role supports the Department Manager and develops skills for future management; responsibilities include supervising tasks, maintaining compliance, and assisting with budgets and inventories.

Qualified candidates will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, plus basic computer skills and a willingness to learn multiple farm-hand disciplines within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and 1–2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics; apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

• May supervise employees on a limited basis and assist in hiring, training and evaluations.
• Assist with department duties for Cattle, Feed, Mill and Yard roles; support management prep.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, EPA regulations and maintain records.
• Communicate safety information and provide regular safety training; monitor for unsafe behavior.
