Job summary

Knight Feed Lot in Lyons, KS is seeking a dependable feed truck driver to deliver feed to animals from the Lyons yard. Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Print and speak simple sentences.
  • Math Ability: Add and subtract two digit numbers; multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; use units of American weight, volume and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Follow simple written or oral instructions; handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive feed truck to deliver feed to animals efficiently and on time.
  • Use feed delivery software to ensure proper rations and bunk loads.
  • Load trucks to specified sizes and operate front end loader to load ingredients.
  • Deliver feed to bunks evenly and report repairs or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain housekeeping and comply with OSHA/safety procedures.

Knight Feedlot is looking for a dependable and reliable feed truck driver to join their team for the yard located in Lyons, KS.

Summary

Drives feed truck to deliver feed to animals in an efficient and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with the applicable feed delivery software system to ensure that proper rations are loaded and fed to the proper bunk.
  • Accurately load trucks to specified load size.
  • Operate front end loader to load feed ingredients.
  • Deliver feed to bunks in an evenly distributed manner.
  • Notify appropriate personnel regarding repairs or maintenance needed.
  • Follow equipment service checklist daily and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Communicate with other drivers feed delivery overages/underages.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the feed area (sweeping, shoveling, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA/safety procedures, rules and regulations.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to pass post offer employment testing.
