• 1-2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Willing to learn different roles within the feedmill.
• Team Player with effective communication to team members and Feedmill Manager.
• Must be able to walk and stand for an extended time.
• Must be able to work in a constant moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow computer system to batch feed and detect maintenance tasks needed.
• Assist crew with daily mill housekeeping items; cleaning and organizing work areas.
• Maintain inventory of feedmill ingredients.
• Comply with safety practices, procedures, and mandatory regulations such as EPA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

A feedmill operator is responsible for running feedmill equipment to batch feed rations for the cattle. Job responsibilities include working with boilers, flakers, and heavy machinery to produce the feed and observing and inspecting the machinery to ensure that all equipment runs effectively to reduce any setbacks in production.

Responsibilities:

Feedmill Operations & Equipment

• Observe and follow computer system to batch feed and detect maintenance tasks needed
• Assist crew with daily mill housekeeping items; cleaning and organizing work areas
• Maintain inventory of feedmill ingredients
• Comply with safety practices, procedures, and mandatory regulations such as EPA, FDA, and OSHA
• Other duties as assigned

Safety, Compliance & Cleanliness

• Follow all feed safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment to reduce fire and safety risks
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and required certifications

Teamwork & Communication

• Communicate effectively with feed truck drivers and management to ensure timely feed delivery
• Work collaboratively with feedmill and yard crews to meet daily production goals
• Report equipment issues, or operational concerns to supervisors
