Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting a midsize Nebraska feedlot in seeking a disciplined Feedlot Manager to oversee all yard operations for up to 50,000 head. You will lead the team and coordinate cattle receiving, processing, shipping, feeding, and health programs.

The ideal candidate has strong cattle knowledge, proven leadership, and the ability to communicate with customers and absentee owners. This role emphasizes hands-on oversight, problem solving, and strategic decision making.

Qualifications

• Strong cattle knowledge and animal health experience.
• Proven leadership and team-management ability.
• Effective communication with customers and staff at all levels.
• Knowledge of grain markets and feedstock purchasing.
• Experience with hedging and futures in cattle markets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all feed yard operations and staff.
• Supervise receiving, processing and shipping of cattle.
• Manage cattle feeding, bunk readings, feed timing and rations.
• Monitor animal health and husbandry across the yard.
• Liaise with customers and absentee owners; uphold safety and compliance.
