Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Missouri is seeking a dedicated operator to perform quality audits, verify job completion, and ensure carton specifications are met on the production line.

You will learn to operate make-ready equipment, monitor carton quality, and maintain materials and housekeeping to standards, while following SQF and safety rules.

Applicants should be comfortable with basic measurement tools, testing devices, and computer data entry, and pallet jack handling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read measurements and use simple tools.
• Learn to operate quality testing devices and document results.
• Pallet jack certification is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills to log data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document quality audits on cartons and line outputs.
• Check job sheets and specifications for carton processing.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance per SQF and policies.
• Support line clearance and shift duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

This role can include Feeder Packer, Graphic Utility, Sheeter Assistant, Delivery Operator, and/or Aerator.

The Opportunity:

Perform and document quality audits, verify job completion, understand job sheet. Check job specifications to carton, learn to Make-ready machine, monitor carton quality, maintain materials for production, complete necessary reports (forms), maintain housekeeping to standards set by management, complete line clearance and additional job duties as assigned by department manager.

Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.

Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, Appropriate Gloves, Safety Shoes, Hair and Beard net if applicable, Bump Caps if applicable and Level 7 Sleeves if Applicable

What You Need to Succeed:

• Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and rule
• Able to learn to operate testing devices (i.e. Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR Thermometer
• Pallet jack certification is a plus
• General mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
