Job summary

Cactus Feeders is seeking a Feed Foreman at Hale Center Feedyard in Hale Center, Texas. This entry-level, salaried position involves monitoring cattle feed intake, coordinating daily feed delivery, and supervising feed truck operations.

The role includes a structured rotational training program across Feed Delivery, Cattle, Feedmill, and Yard Repair & Maintenance over about two years, with mentorship and feedback from management to build leadership skills and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related agriculture field.
• Prior experience in livestock production sectors such as feedyard or ranch operations.
• Equivalent agricultural experience demonstrating knowledge of cattle production.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cattle behavior, feed intake, bunk conditions, weather, and performance to determine daily feed requirements.
• Coordinate feed delivery schedules with hay delivery, cattle receiving, and shipping activities.
• Supervise the daily activities of the feed truck crew to ensure accurate, efficient delivery.
• Monitor feed quality, ration accuracy, and department productivity.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance for feed trucks, scales, feeding systems, and equipment.
• Assist with new employee orientation, training, and daily coaching.
• Support the Feed Delivery Manager with scheduling, performance reviews, and operations.
• Promote safe work practices and animal welfare throughout daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
