Job summary

Pilgrim is seeking a Utility person for our feed mill. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean work area and serving as a back-up yard spotter. The role includes daily housekeeping, PPE usage, transferring bag ingredients to the floor, and unloading trucks with an electric pallet jack.

If the designated Receiving Operator is absent, you may perform those tasks as well. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can multitask, maintain attention to detail, and demonstrate good math,

Qualifications

• Self-starter able to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to multitask and stay detail oriented.
• Good math, written and oral communication skills.
• Good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Clean the assigned area and back up yard spotter.
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping tasks; remove dust from surfaces; use PPE; send bag ingredients to the work floor; unload trucks with an electric pallet jack; may perform Receiving Operator tasks if needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning the area. Also back up yard spotter. Performs any other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.
• The Utility person is also responsible for day-to-day housekeeping tasks, including the removal of dust from ledges, floors, equipment and other surfaces. The feed mill house keeper must always use and maintain PPE assigned for each task. They will also send bag ingredients to work floor as needed. They also unload trucks as needed with an electric pallet jack . The utility person is also trained and able to do the tasks of the “Receiving Operator” if that designated person is absent.
