Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Hugoton, KS is seeking a Feed Mill Operator to learn and manage the feed mill process from receiving to loadout. You will cross-train across production and maintenance, ensure smooth material flow, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires basic MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint skills, the ability to read/write reports, and may prefer bilingual English/Spanish speakers. On-site position with multiple benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1+ years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence and respond to questions from managers and visitors.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the material process flow of the feed mill, including receiving, grinding, batching, pelleting, and loadout.
• Cross-train in all production/maintenance areas and become proficient in plant automation.
• Plan and manage production needs for each operation area.
• Maintain cleanliness of all feed mill areas and surrounding grounds.
• Follow cGMP and FSMA protocols and complete required paperwork using computer systems.

We have an exciting Feed Mill Operatoropportunity in our Hugoton, KS Feed Mill. As a Feed Mill Operator, you will be responsible for learning and understanding the feed mill manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn the material process flow of entire feed mill to include receiving, grinding, batching, pelleting, and loadout.
• Cross-train in all areas of production/maintenance at the feed mill and be proficient in all areas of plant automation.
• Manage and plan production needs for each area of operation.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of all areas of the feed mill and the grounds adjacent to the plant.
• Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with all Current Good Manufacturing Practices' (cGMP) and FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) protocols.
• Process necessary paperwork and learn to account for items using computer skills as needed and follow procedures established to insure proper material flow.
• Understand and follow safety rules consistent with standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 1+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and visitors.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies, procedures, and directions from upper management.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations and cold or humid weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to waste material, feed, and hog dust.
