Job summary

Peco Foods, Inc. is seeking a professional truck driver in Alabama to transport feed from the mill to farm destinations.

You will drive the company truck, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, load and unload as needed, and keep accurate logs in line with state and federal regulations. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, a DOT physical, and strict adherence to GMP policies, routine maintenance, hygiene standards, and reporting any abnormal situations to supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and DOT medical card.
• Experience driving and delivering to farm destinations is preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate truck logs and comply with regulations.
• Commitment to GMP policies and personal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive company truck from feed mill to farm destination.
• Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations.
• Communicate delivery instructions with supervisor by phone or radio.
• Load and unload truck and clean compartment after unloading to prevent contamination.
• Inspect truck equipment (tires, lights, brakes, oil, gas, water).
• Perform routine maintenance including pre/post trip inspections.
• Comply with company policies.
• Report suspicious or abnormal situations to supervisor or plant management.

Job description

• Drive company truck from the feed mill to farm destination.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Loads and unloads truck, cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, oil, gas, and water.
• Performs routine maintenance on company truck, including but not limited to daily pre and post trip inspections.
• Comply with written company policies.
• Maintain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license; valid department of transportation physical is also required.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP policies.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
  • Abnormal situation would be:
    • Product tampering.
    • Willful product adulteration.
    • Unauthorized employees in restricted areas.
    • Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring.
    • Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at sake.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting/driving in a company vehicle.
• Operating a truck boom arm to unload the feed upon arrival at the farm.
• Being able to work in a mostly outdoor environment.
