Job summary

Ultipro is seeking a professional truck driver to transport feed products from our feed mill to farm destinations in Alabama. You will maintain truck logs, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and communicate with supervision for delivery instructions.

The role requires loading/unloading, equipment checks, and adherence to GMP and safety policies. Outdoor work with physical demands and compliance with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT medical card required.
• Clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck from the feed mill to farm destinations according to schedule.
• Maintain truck logs per state and federal regulations.
• Load and unload, and clean compartments after unloading.
• Inspect truck equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Communicate with supervisor for delivery instructions.
• Comply with company policies and GMP standards.
• Identify and report suspicious or abnormal situations.

Job description

• Drive company truck from the feed mill to farm destination.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Loads and unloads truck, cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, oil, gas, and water.
• Performs routine maintenance on company truck, including but not limited to daily pre and post trip inspections.
• Comply with written company policies.
• Maintain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license; valid department of transportation physical is also required.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP policies.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
  • Abnormal situation would be:
    • Product tampering.
    • Willful product adulteration.
    • Unauthorized employees in restricted areas.
    • Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring.
    • Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at sake.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting/driving in a company vehicle.
• Operating a truck boom arm to unload the feed upon arrival at the farm.
• Being able to work in a mostly outdoor environment.
