Job summary

Aviagen is seeking an experienced Driver to operate a semi-tractor and feed tanker trailer, ensuring safety and compliance with DOT rules and company policies. The role requires extensive driving experience, a valid Class A CDL with a clean record, and the ability to perform pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities include maintaining biosecurity and animal welfare standards, completing inspections and reports, and adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of driving experience
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid Class A CDL with 3-year verifiable driving record
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation, state and federal laws
• Ability to read and write legibly
• Physical requirement to perform ground duties (described tasks)

Responsibilities

• Follow all DOT safety rules and company policies
• Maintain biosecurity, animal welfare, safety, and ISO standards
• Complete reports and inspections
• Perform pre-trip inspections (tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes)
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor
• Clean and wash truck as necessary
• May perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

Job Description

• Operate semi-tractor and feed tanker trailer combination


• Understand and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws and requirements


• Comply with all DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations


• Maintain biosecurity, animal welfare, safety, and ISO standards


• Maintain and complete all reports and inspections


• Perform and document pre-trip inspection (i.e., tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, hoses, etc.)


• Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to supervisor


• Clean and wash truck as necessary


• May perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

Job Qualifications

• 6 plus years of Driving Experience required


• Minimum 21 years of age


• Valid Class 'A' CDL with 3-year verifiable satisfactory driving record


• Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal Laws


• Ability to read and write legibly


• Ability to spend 45min. to an hour on the ground at each feed delivery, requiring overhead reaching to open/close the trailer's compartments (circular motion for 1 min overhead to open, 1 min overhead to close each compartment; could be 48 to 60 times a day).


• Ability to pull cable with all weight to open bin lids.
