Job summary

The Andersons, Inc. is seeking a Feed Commodity Merchant to connect across the agricultural supply chain.

You will buy and sell feed ingredients, primarily focusing on DDGs, while building strong customer and supplier relationships and coordinating logistics to optimize profitability. Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 2–5 years in commodity merchandising or related roles, with strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent in work experience) in agribusiness or related major.
• 2–5 years in commodity merchandising, trading, logistics, or related commercial role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive improvements via technology.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Buy and sell feed ingredients, focusing on DDGs to create value and growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics providers.
• Analyze market fundamentals, freight dynamics, and supply chain economics.
• Negotiate and execute commodity contracts including pricing and delivery terms.
• Coordinate rail and truck logistics for efficient movement of commodities.
• Monitor positions and risks; ensure accurate execution and reporting.
• Leverage data and market insights to support decision-making and optimization.
• Develop new business opportunities and expand customer relationships.
