Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer (FedRAMP) to lead secure, full-stack development across our web applications and platform services for governed public sector boundaries.

You will design, build, and maintain scalable frontend and backend systems, collaborating with InfoSec, R&D, and DevOps to meet strict compliance and performance standards in FedRAMP environments. A strong focus on security, automation, and mentorship is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience building full-stack enterprise web applications in complex, highly regulated cloud environments.
• Backend engineering: proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js for RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Frontend engineering: experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular and state management.
• Cloud ecosystem (GCP) experience with deployed cloud-native apps and GKE.
• Data architecture: design/query relational and non-relational databases with auditing.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Application Development: design, build, test, and maintain secure, responsive frontend interfaces and backend microservices across governed cloud boundaries.
• Secure Coding & Enclave Governance: adhere to OWASP, NIST SP 800-53, and SSDF to enforce zero-trust in FedRAMP enclaves.
• API & Cloud-Native Architecture: architect and optimize RESTful and gRPC APIs and containerized microservices on GCP/GKE.
• Data & State Management: design and optimize relational and non-relational DB schemas with auditing and isolation.
• AI-Augmented SDLC & Velocity: leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining data security boundaries.
• CI/CD Pipeline Security Integration: secure software supply chain with SAST/DAST, dependency checks, and image signing.
• Observability & Telemetry: implement logging/tracing/metrics with Cloud Operations Suite for audit readiness.
• Security & Compliance Remediation: work with InfoSec to remediate findings and strengthen app-tier controls.
• On-Call Operations: participate in on-call to support FedRAMP services and incident response.
