Upstate Medical University seeks a Federal Work Study Research Assistant in Syracuse to support translational neuroscience lab work. You'll assist with lab operations, reagent prep, inventory, and IHC staining under senior supervision, while capturing microscope images and maintaining detailed lab records.

You will also reach out to pediatric, ObGyn, and psychiatric clinics for patient enrollment and help ship samples as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.
• Negotiable work days based on class schedule.

Responsabilités

• Maintain general laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management, and equipment upkeep.
• Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining on tissue sections under the supervision of senior lab members.
• Capture, organize, and catalog microscope images for downstream analysis.
• Maintain accurate records in laboratory notebooks and digital databases.
• Outreach to pediatric, ObGyn and psychiatric practices for patient enrollment. Shipping of samples.
