Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is seeking a part-time Reading Coach to assist elementary students with reading and homework at Bartholomew County Public Library. You will work with small groups to support reading development and provide homework help, while assisting with library programs and patron services.

Responsibilities include shelving, program preparation, leading board game activities, and helping patrons access online resources such as Tutor.com.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and strong command of English.
• Willingness to learn and promote library resources such as Tutor.com.
• Experience in tutoring or reading support is a plus.

Job description

To assist (tutor) elementary students as a reading coach and to provide homework help at Bartholomew County Public Library. Work with small groups of elementary school children to assist with homework and reading. Other library tasks may include preparing for programs, leading board game activities, assisting with Library programs, shelving books, and assisting library patrons with library services as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, command of English language, fluent with computer/table/phone technology, positive attitude, willingness to learn and promote library services such as online resources (i.e. Tutor.com) that are relevant to reading and learning.
• Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need.
• Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status.

Pay Rate: $18/hour
