Job Description:
The University of Florida Herbarium (in the Florida Museum of Natural History) has a Federal Work Study (FWS) position available to work on processing herbarium specimens. Duties include handling of fragile herbarium specimens, mounting specimens, organizing and filing, typing information from specimen labels into database fields, and imaging specimens with a fixed, mounted camera. Tasks require meticulous care and attention to detail. Familiarity with plant taxonomy can be helpful.
The hours are flexible, between 8am-5pm Mon-Fri, excluding holidays, but a regular schedule of 6-12 hours per week is desirable.
Compensation: $13.50/hour
Eligibility: YOU MUST BE A UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA STUDENT. Your financial aid allocation must have funds in the “FWSP” program column.
