Job summary

Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC is seeking a Federal Work Study CADM Orientation Assistant to support orientation programs across Industrial, Construction and Transportation trades.

You will create calendars and assist faculty with syllabi, provide administrative support to new students, answer phones, design flyers for orientation, and collaborate on data collection and analysis to boost student engagement.

Qualifications

• One semester of academic work at GTCC with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Minimum of one semester of coursework with a GPA of 2.5.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Some experience with Adobe or Microsoft Forms.
• Ability to multi-task and work with competing deadlines.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Background in Industrial, Construction or Transportation Technology.

Job Description

Assists in the development of student orientation programs for the Industrial, Construction and Transportation programs, including welding, automotive, diesel, collision repair and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

Duties/Functions

• Creates and maintains a communications and events calendar for students newly enrolled in any CADM program
• Assists faculty in the presentation of course syllabi and other guidelines for student success
• Provides administrative support for newly admitted students
• Answers phone and provides general customer service to students and faculty
• Creates flyers to increase student engagement and attendance at orientation events
• Collaborates with other students and employees in data collection, data entry and analysis
