City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is seeking a Federal Work Study student worker for the Athletics Department. You will assist at the reception, support office functions, and help with athletic event setup and data entry.

The role offers hourly pay ($17.00/hr), flexible weekend work for athletic events, and an opportunity to gain experience across academic departments and athletic operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Actively attending City Colleges of Chicago.
• Enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre‑credit or credit classes.
• Pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate.
• Maintains a minimum 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students).
• No CCC employee status.
• Employment at‑will.

Responsibilities

• Assist at reception desk, greeting students, faculty and staff.
• Support day‑to‑day operations in the Office.
• Contribute to various projects and assignments as needed.
• Provide general office support: filing, faxing, photocopying, data entry.
• Follow CCC Customer Services Excellence Standards.
• Process NJCAA eligibility paperwork and enter statistics; conduct internet research as needed.
• Assist in setup and game administration of home athletic contests.
• Help with laundry and organization of athletic equipment and materials.
• Hours vary; some weekends required during athletic contests.

FEDERAL WORK STUDY – ATHLETIC DEPT

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The FWS program encourages students to gain experience in their prospective fields by placing them in areas and departments aligned with their area of study whenever possible. Students are able to use their wages towards educational and living expenses. FWS jobs are available in areas such as academic departments, laboratories, libraries, administrative offices, student centers and several off‑campus locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Student will assist at reception desk, greeting students, faculty and staff entering office
• Assists staff in the day‑to‑day functions of the Office.
• Provide support on various projects and assignments as needed.
• Provides general office support including but not limited to filing, faxing, photocopying, and Data entry.
• Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.
• File and complete paperwork necessary for NJCAA eligibility, enter statistics, internet research and others duties as assigned.
• Assist in the setup of and game administration (score clock, etc) of home athletic contests.
• Work also will include laundry and organization of athletic equipment and practice materials.
• Hours will remain consistent though some times and days of work will vary throughout the semester. Will include work on some weekends when we have athletic contests.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States
• Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago
• Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester hours pre‑credit or credit classes
• Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate
• Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students)
• Applicants must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions
• Applicants must not be current Full or Part‑time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago
• All positions are “employment at‑will”

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago.
• Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Promotes a positive role model and favorable public image as City Colleges of Chicago representative.

Student worker rate is $17.00/hr. If variance from $17.05/hr is required, College HR/Recruitment must discuss with District Compensation.

The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
