Job summary

Fairbanks Morse, LLC seeks a Weld Engineer to lead welding process development for federal equipment manufacturing. You will design, implement, and optimize welding operations with attention to quality, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities include creating WPS/PQR, selecting techniques and materials, and training welders. You will collaborate with design, production, and QA to ensure efficient, compliant welding across shifts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in welding/ metallurgy/ mechanical engineering or related field.
Equivalent work experience with relevant welding certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize welding processes for federal equipment manufacturing.
Create and maintain welding procedures (WPS/PQR) per AWS, ASME, ISO.
Evaluate and select welding techniques, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements.
Ensure all welding operations meet federal and company quality standards.
Collaborate with QA to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
Train and certify welding personnel to meet qualifications.
Identify opportunities to improve welding efficiency, reduce costs, and drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements.
