Job summary

Fairbanks Morse, LLC seeks a Weld Engineer to lead welding process development for federal equipment manufacturing. You will design, implement, and optimize welding operations with attention to quality, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities include creating WPS/PQR, selecting techniques and materials, and training welders. You will collaborate with design, production, and QA to ensure efficient, compliant welding across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in welding/ metallurgy/ mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Equivalent work experience with relevant welding certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize welding processes for federal equipment manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain welding procedures (WPS/PQR) per AWS, ASME, ISO.
  • Evaluate and select welding techniques, materials, and equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure all welding operations meet federal and company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with QA to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and certify welding personnel to meet qualifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve welding efficiency, reduce costs, and drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements.
