Aptive is seeking a full-time Web Content Specialist to support FHWA RD&T at TFHRC by writing, editing, and maintaining content for federal websites, SharePoint sites, and Google Sites pages. The role uses CMSs to upload and organize content, ensuring accessibility and compliance with federal standards and delivering training to staff.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in web content management, a related bachelor’s degree, and experience with Drupal, SharePoint, or Google Sites.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in web content management with recent work in the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Experience using CMSs (Drupal, SharePoint, Google Sites) for web publishing and maintenance.
  • Transportation sector experience and ability to obtain/maintain a public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and finalize web content across FHWA/RD&T sites, ensuring accessibility and federal style compliance.
  • Upload, organize, and post content using CMSs (Drupal, SharePoint, Google Sites) and optimize for SEO and Section 508.
  • Design graphics for web publishing and provide training on web content tools.
  • Monitor pages for updates, fix broken links, and coordinate content certifications.
  • Train FHWA staff on web content and database tools and ensure data quality.
  • Support complex client relationships and manage competing deadlines.
