Chevo is hiring an experienced Federal Writer-Documentation Specialist to join our expanding firm in the Washington, DC area. This role offers significant client interaction and the chance to become a trusted advisor by deepening understanding of the client's business, with a focus on DHS Stakeholder Engagement and Communications.

The position features a hybrid work environment with one client engagement day per week and a focus on producing high-quality manuals, reports, and training materials

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • 3–10 years of technical writing experience supporting the Federal Government.
  • Experience writing manuals, reports, and training materials for varied audiences.

  • Develop, write, and edit manuals, reports, and training materials for varied audiences.
  • Research, write, edit, and design project-specific materials guided by objectives and audience needs.
  • Proofread regulatory/ guideline documents for accuracy and grammar.

Description

Chevo is hiring an experienced Federal Writer- Documentation Specialist to join our expanding firm in the Washington, DC area. This position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction by learning the client's business better than they know it and to become a trusted advisor. Ideal candidates will demonstrate versatility in understanding and performing work related to DHS Stakeholder Engagement and Communications. This position provides a hybrid work environment, with 1-day per week client engagement expected. Client site located in the Washington DC metro area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops, writes, and edits materials for manuals, reports, studies, customization of training materials, and other types of documentation for varied audiences. Develops high-visibility, multi-faceted documents.
  • Uses guidelines such as program objectives and identified audience needs, researches, writes, edits, and designs a variety of technical and promotional project specific materials.
  • Researches appropriate subject-matter literature and proofread copies of regulation / guideline manuals for accuracy of interpretation and grammar.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • B.A. or B.S. required
  • 3-10 Years of Technical Writing Supporting the Federal Government
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working on Stakeholder Engagement/Communications Projects a plus
  • Previous experience supporting DHS

SALARY RANGE: $72.5K To $85K (subject to change)
