Job summary

SLSCO Ltd. in El Paso, TX seeks an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer for federal design-build projects across the Southwestern U.S. The SSHO will implement and enforce the Safety Program, APP, and AHA, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926.16.

US citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance are required. Key duties include leading safety training, coordinating with government stakeholders, and supervising safety personnel and subcontractors to uphold the

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years of experience preparing and enforcing safety programs on federal design-build projects.
• OSHA-30 hour and EM 385-1-1 (40 hr) certification.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, CBP projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA).
• Provide on-site safety leadership and training.
• Ensure compliance with 29 CFR 1926.16 and EM 385-1-1.
• Report safety metrics and investigate incidents.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and government counterparts.
• Oversee subcontractor safety performance.
