Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Senior Federal Security Architect to own and develop the federal security architecture for U.S. contracting environments.

You will produce integrated designs across identity, cloud, endpoints, networks, and providers, ensuring CUI/FCI protection and operational reliability. You will partner with the Federal Information Security Lead, drive NIST SP 800-171A testing, and maintain SSP narratives, plans of action, and milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, cybersecurity, or engineering.
• Eight+ years of IT security, infrastructure, or architecture experience.
• Five+ years designing security architectures for federal or federal-contractor environments.
• Demonstrated experience implementing NIST 800-171 controls and RMF/ATO processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the federal enclave architecture baseline and roadmap.
• Translate requirements into practical, verifiable security designs.
• Lead test criteria and evidence for compliance and security review.
• Collaborate with legal/compliance on control coverage and exceptions.
• Provide governance, documentation, and handoffs for approvals and audits.
