Zusammenfassung

United States Attorneys' Offices in the District of New Mexico seekqualified Assistant United States Attorneys to prosecute a broad range of federal crimes, including cases involving illegal immigration and drug trafficking. Successful candidates will work with federal, state, and local partners in Albuquerque and Las Cruces to advance investigations and prosecutions.

Applicants must hold a J.D. degree, be members of the bar, and reside within the district or within 25 miles.

Qualifikationen

J.D. degree and active bar membership (any U.S. jurisdiction) required.
Strong analytical ability and precise articulation of issues.
Superior oral and writing skills, with strong research and interpersonal skills.

Aufgaben

Partner with federal, state, and local law enforcement to manage criminal investigations and prosecutions in the federal courts.
Advise federal agents on questions of law and Departmental policy.
Recommend charging decisions and dispositions for assigned cases.
Research and draft all legal pleadings and be prepared to try cases in federal court.
Investigate and pursue asset forfeiture related to prosecutions.
Oversee and coordinate the preparation of litigation assignments for legal support staff.
