Job summary

The United States Attorney's Office for the District of New Mexico seeks civil litigators to defend the United States in a broad range of civil cases in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
• J.D. degree and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction required.
• Preference for applicants with prior trial experience and ability to handle complex cases from investigation through trial.

Responsibilities

• Represent the United States in civil litigation in the District of New Mexico.
• Defend the U.S. in civil cases including immigration, administrative, employment, and tort matters.
• Manage civil cases at all stages, take depositions, handle discovery, motions, and trials.
• Provide candid litigation risk assessments to client agencies and work with federal partners.
