Job summary

Michels Federal, Inc. is seeking an experienced Federal Project Manager to lead federal programs from award to completion, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with federal requirements.

The role emphasizes strong communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive projects on time and within scope. The position requires experience with federal agencies, FAR/DFARS, and the ability to travel up to 75% to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Industry certifications such as PMP, CAPM, CQMC, or related are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience on federal projects—heavy civil, infrastructure, energy, utility, or similar.
• Experience working with federal owners such as USACE and/or NAVFAC; familiarity with FAR/DFARS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary project interface with federal agencies and owners.
• Represent Michels’ Federal Programs team and report to the Director of Operations of Federal Programs.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, safety, quality, and operations to support project execution across types.
• Maintain relationships with USACE, NAVFAC, and other federal partners.
• Facilitate project kickoffs, progress meetings, and communications with stakeholders.
• Support development and management of project schedules, submittals, and reporting required by federal contracts.
