Job summary

PAE Government Services Inc. seeks paralegal professionals to assist multiple AUSA personnel in handling a range of federal casework, from drafting and filing to case management and hearings. The role emphasizes accuracy under pressure with strong legal research and writing capabilities.

The position requires MRPT eligibility, U.S. citizenship, and a paralegal certificate or active ABA‑accredited law school attendance with at least one year completed.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain MRPT facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Requires paralegal certificate, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
  • One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
  • At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience is required; trial experience is helpful.
  • Automated litigation support experience is valued.
  • Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheet, imaging and hardware systems.
  • Role also requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Aides multiple Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA).
  • Examining, preparing and processing a variety of legal documents, e.g., orders, arrest warrants, criminal cover sheets, and subpoenas.
  • Compile documents in preparation for hearings and trial.
  • Create case fact timelines.
  • Open, manage, and close cases through various government computer systems.
  • Maintaining calendar of assigned active cases.
  • File documents with the court using online ECF filing systems.
  • Interact with the victim assistance specialist unit regarding case management.
  • Interact with opposing counsel, case agents, and other federal agencies.
