Job summary

The Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Florida is accepting applications for the position of Paralegal to be stationed in the Jacksonville office. The Paralegal provides a full range of paralegal services to staff attorneys.

General duties include legal research and writing, all aspects of case preparation, discovery review and file management, drafting pleadings and correspondence, interviewing clients and witnesses, and developing and maintaining research banks.

Qualifications

• Experience performing legal research and drafting, with attention to detail.
• Ability to support staff attorneys in all phases of case preparation.
• Familiarity with discovery processes and file management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and correspondence.
• Assist in all aspects of case preparation and discovery review.
• Draft pleadings and court filings, and organize case files.
