Job summary

Imagineeer in the Washington, DC metro area seeks a senior .NET Developer to design, build, and modernize enterprise applications for federal missions. You will work across full-stack, cloud APIs on Azure, and DevSecOps pipelines, collaborating with government stakeholders in an Agile environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, EF, and SQL Server, plus secure coding and production-support skills. Hybrid on-site work is expected in the DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, SE, or related field; 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development and maintenance.
• Hands-on full-stack experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET platforms, and EF.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience supporting production applications, including troubleshooting and remediation.
• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Secure development practices including code reviews, secrets handling, and dependency management.
• Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust; on-site hybrid in the Washington, DC metro area.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices deployed to Azure.
• Modernize legacy apps by migrating to .NET 6/8+, refactoring for performance.
• Design data access with EF Core and SQL Server, including queries and schema changes.
• Write unit/integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Apply secure coding practices per OWASP/NIST and fix security findings.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and estimate work.
• Troubleshoot production issues and document designs/procedures.
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, and government stakeholders to translate requirements into software.
