Qualifications

• 5+ years Federal Financial Accounting experience.
• Public Trust Clearance required.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain government security clearance.

Job description

Location: Remote; Limited visits to HQ in Springfield, VA

Education and Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree Accounting, CPA/CGFM Certification preferred
• 5+ years Federal Financial Accounting experience
• Public Trust Clearance
• Must be familiar with FASAB, GAAP, and USSGL
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support implementation of SFFAS 54 and SFFAS 62
• Maintain lease accounting and reporting support documentation
• Monthly review and reconciliation of lease contract activity
• Prepare quarterly lease journal entries, financial statement footnotes, and other analyses and reports
• Prepare lease related audit deliverables
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes for leases and restructuring and preparing reconciliations
• Review and develop policies, procedures, position papers, and other documentation to ensure agency compliance with Federal financial reporting and audit requirements, the USSGL, and federal accounting guidance as issued by the FASAB.
• Prepare, compile, or review responses to external and internal audit requests.
• Review deliverables for quality assurance in line with project requirements

• Strong analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interface professionally with the client and provide expertise as needed.
• Ability to effectively work as part of a remote team.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
