Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar license in good standing.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw/Lexis).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees USAO’s habeas corpus matters, including motions, calendaring, and drafting responses for review by an AUSA.
• Analyzes statutes, precedents, agency rules, and law review sources relevant to assigned cases.
• Briefs attorneys on pertinent facts, issues, and case law.
• Drafts legal documents and proposed orders for signature.
• Keeps abreast of new developments and alerts AUSAs to potential issues.
