Job summary

Mythics seeks a highly organized Technical Writer to support defense consulting programs. You will develop, edit, and maintain documentation for IT, cybersecurity, and cloud modernization efforts in collaboration with PMs, engineers, and government stakeholders.

The role emphasizes translating complex concepts into clear materials, ensuring compliance with federal standards, and maintaining thorough documentation libraries. Experience with RMF, NIST, and related frameworks is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, Journalism, IT, CS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of technical writing experience supporting IT, software, cloud, or cybersecurity projects.
• Experience supporting federal, DoD, or state/local government programs.
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience developing documentation from interviews with SMEs.
• Strong understanding of document lifecycle management and version control.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
• Experience with SharePoint, Confluence, Adobe Acrobat, or similar collaboration/document management platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for IT consulting engagements.
• Create system documentation, implementation guides, SOPs, user guides, administrator guides, and training materials.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with PMs, solution architects, cloud engineers, cybersecurity pros, and business analysts to gather technical information.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including SDDs, architecture diagrams, configuration guides, installation guides, and manuals.
• Support proposal efforts with technical content, staffing descriptions, and past performance documentation.
• Assist cybersecurity teams with RMF, NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC, or ATO documentation.
• Coordinate document reviews and approvals with internal stakeholders and government customers.
