Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Technical Writer to develop, edit, and maintain clear documentation for enterprise IT operations and ITSM delivery within a federally regulated environment.

You will translate complex technical and security information into accessible content for varied audiences, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and ITSM leaders to ensure accuracy and governance across manuals, online help, and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, IT, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 0–3 years of progressively responsible experience in technical writing, documentation, or closely related communication roles.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely for varied audiences.
• Training or practical experience with documentation tools (word processing, PDF, and help‑authoring or publishing tools).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail, organization, and version control.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineers, analysts, and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced IT environment.
• Active or obtainable SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship, with less than 10% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex technical and security-relevant information into clear user guides, SOPs, workflows, and reference materials for varied audiences.
• Gather, analyze, and validate information by interviewing engineers, analysts, product owners, and ITSM leaders; review specifications and observe workflows.
• Apply structured writing principles, templates, and style guides to create cohesive content across manuals, knowledge articles, training materials, and online help.
• Use documentation and publishing tools to produce and maintain content in multiple formats (web-based help, printable documentation, training materials).
• Apply plain-language principles, accessibility standards, and federal documentation guidelines to improve clarity and compliance.
• Coordinate review cycles, track stakeholder comments, and maintain version control to ensure auditable change history.
• Partner with agile and DevOps teams to update documentation with frequent system releases and service changes.
• Support documentation needs for enterprise IT services (cloud, cybersecurity, ITSM) essential to Federal Client operations.
• Collaborate with ITIL Specialist and Service/Integration Management Lead to align with ITIL practices.
