Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Federal IT Specialist contractor to work remotely on federal IT operations and AI training. You will review and improve AI outputs in security, governance, and documentation, focusing on GS-2210 activities and incident response.

You will diagnose hardware and network issues, refine technical guidance, and help ensure privacy and compliance in federal contexts. Strong hands-on experience with hardware repair and information security is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and refine AI-generated technical documentation, system configurations, and security controls.
• Support incident response simulations and use-case evaluations to improve AI model security incident detection.

micro1 is engaging Federal IT Specialists to contribute expertise to a customer’s project focused on federal IT operations and AI training. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. The engagement centers on evaluating and improving AI understanding of federal IT deliverables, with an emphasis on GS-2210 activities, incident response, information security compliance, and technical documentation. You will leverage your hands-on experience in hardware repair, network administration, and incident management to assess and enhance AI outputs based on authentic federal IT scenarios.

Scope of Work

• Review, analyze, and provide expert feedback on AI-generated content related to federal IT processes, including ATO package reviews, IT investment business cases, incident reports, and privacy impact assessments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, network, and application incidents generated by AI, reflecting realistic federal environments.
• Contribute actionable insights to technical guidance and training resources for AI model development, ensuring accuracy in federal IT contexts.
• Evaluate and refine technical documentation, system configurations, and security controls generated by AI systems.
• Support incident response simulations and use-case evaluations to improve AI model performance in detecting and addressing security incidents.
• Assess AI outputs for alignment with federal cybersecurity, privacy, and information assurance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in federal IT roles (GS-2210 or equivalent), with demonstrated success in hardware repair, network administration, and incident response.
• Proven track record in information security implementation and compliance within federal frameworks (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
• Expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting heterogeneous IT environments (hardware, software, network, applications).
• Experience preparing or reviewing federal documentation: ATO packages, privacy impact assessments, incident reports, or IT investment business cases.
• Commitment to upholding data integrity, security, and privacy in all deliverables and project activities.
