Job summary

Tangent Technologies is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support a federal program in Washington, DC. The role focuses on maintaining ATOs, RMF compliance, and continuous monitoring across systems.

The candidate should have DoD/NIST knowledge, active clearance, and strong communication skills to liaise with system owners and ISSMs while guiding risk management activities in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related cybersecurity field, or 6 years of work experience equivalency.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in ISSO, information assurance, or RMF roles.
• Active DoD clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs) and authorization packages.
• Lead the preparation of ATO packages, including SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct Security Impact Analyses (SIA) for system changes and develop mitigation strategies.
• Perform self-assessments, risk assessments, and annual testing of Contingency and Incident Response Plans.
• Review audit logs, vulnerability scans, and evaluate system-level reports for security controls.
• Provide strategic risk and compliance advice to system owners and ISSMs.
• Demonstrate expertise in network security, cloud environments, OSs, and security assessment tools.
